- [Instructor] One of the things that I think is relatively unique to civil drawings when compared to other types of construction drawings is the use of standard details. So as I showed you earlier, one of the types of civil drawings you'll encounter are street improvement drawings like this one, meaning drawings that show you the work that needs to be completed out in the public right-of-way. Now, when you're working out on a public street like this or out in the public right-of-way off of private property the agency or jurisdiction having authority, which you might also see abbreviated as JHA, again that's JHA, jurisdiction having authority, they'll often have standard details for things like curbs, sidewalks, driveways, and drainage structures.
