- [Instructor] It is important to realize that unexpected issues happen on all projects, and in busy offices. Distractions will happen almost everyday, and certainly multiple times a week. In a BIM management role, this becomes especially difficult, as people will often judge you in the moment, by their specific project success, and your ability to address their issues immediately. While helping to resolve these issues is certainly part of your job, it is easy to forget that it is not all of your job. A very strong point can be made that improving your own skills, and your industry knowledge is just as important as solving an individual problem. Why? Because even if this action is not directly billable to a specific project, if this educational moment is focused properly, it can lead you to solutions for multiple, other issues that will reduce the project hours on the job, and reduce the risk for project errors on future projects.
