Selecting PPE in a crisis
- [Instructor] When activities are planned, like the tasks you perform at work, all the things I've discussed regarding hazard assessment and proper PPE evaluation and selection can also be planned. Sometimes though, we find ourselves in a crisis. Supplies might be limited. Specific hazards might be hard to identify. And as a result, we might find ourselves forced to do the best we can. Sometimes we have to make due with what's available, whether that's limited information, or limited supplies, or both. In these times of crisis, it's still helpful to understand PPE and how it works because it can help you to make as informed a decision as possible, even if that decision and our actions are less than ideal. In these types of situations, decision making is difficult. My best advice is to keep calm.
