Setting shape node Arnold attributes
- [Instructor] We've seen how Maya lights have new properties such as Spread available in their Arnold attributes. It's the same for renderable services such as meshes. The Arnold section in their shape node attributes lets us control the object's visibility and render components such as reflections. The visibility attributes are great for achieving nonphysical effects. Here we can use them to prevent unwanted light spill. Let's do a rendering of this camera lamp viewport. Go to Renderer, Arnold and start the interactive production rendering. When we render the shot, we see some light splash on the ceiling. We want to get rid of this, we want the effect of the lamp actually being closed up here at the top. The physical solution would be to model a part for the lamp that actually blocks that light splash, but we can also quickly fix this issue with the object's Arnold shape node attributes. Previously we used a flat shader…
