Sites, alignments, and alignment types

- [Instructor] Before we get into creating alignments, we're going to take a brief look and see information about the alignment types, as well as alignments and their association with sites. So let's go ahead and from the home ribbon, create design panel, we're going to choose alignment, and alignment creation tools. So let's look a little bit at the dialogue box here, with regards to alignments. Alignments, you can have a few different types of alignments within Civil 3D. You have the offset alignment, and we'll talk about that later. Curve return alignments, which will automatically be created with corridor or intersections. Rail alignments, that deal with your can't design values, and then miscellaneous alignments, such as wall, or the center line of a pipe network, or something similar. Really, a lot of times, we focus so much on making sure we select the correct type, whereas if there's a need to change the type, Civil 3D automatically will handle that for us. Look at all the…
