Summary of skills

- [Narrator] Let's talk a little bit about your summary of skills. Skills listed do not need to be industry-specific. Include any skills that indicate that you are a hands-on person. List skills that are transferable and any skills that show that you are able to work in environments that are similar to the position for which you are applying. The construction trades rely on strong measurement and math skills, so if you have these skills, don't forget to include them. You may also list any project planning or advanced skills that are relevant to the industry. Here is an example of a summary of skills. You can see that the left column includes specific hand and power tools with which the applicant is competent. The right hand column indicates other types of skills that are relevant to the industry such as measurement, being able to work from ladders and heights or in tight spaces, being able to lift a certain amount of weight, and an indication of math ability.
