Trade classes
- [Instructor] Trade related classes are good options for building your resume if you are unable to gain practical experience. Look for classes that incorporate theory with hands-on labs. Some examples include welding, automotive repair, electrical theory, home owner repair classes, and woodworking. It is ideal to take classes that match the industry you are interested in although any trade class will demonstrate an interest in working in the trades, as well as an ability to learn construction techniques and new skills. Look for classes at your local community college or within your community, at building supply stores, or renovation centers. You may even find that local apprenticeship training centers offer introductory classes.
