- [Instructor] The easiest ball inspection methods is simply to have a look. With visual inspection, you can see all sorts of issues. You can easily detect things, like scorches from high and improper heat in the clave, stains from water damage or resin issues, dents that can occur from improper handling or poor tool quality, penetration or piercings of the skins, abrasions and scratches from rubbing against something improperly. There are chips from impacts and lack of resin from the improper spreading of the resin, or not properly vacuum bagging or compressing the plies. This is a fairly long list. Thus, it shows us the importance of a good visual inspection. Another useful tool while visually inspecting your parts are your hands. While visually inspecting your final components, if you are allowed to, rub your hands along the surfaces as well. You may be able to detect surface quality issues with your hands…
