Where composites are used
- [Instructor] So where are composites used? In the last 25 years, composite applications have really bloomed. The affordability and the ability to tailor-make your composite to your product has made the composite basically ubiquitous with things everywhere. First, the aerospace industry. One of the early adopters was flight and because of the early adaptation of composites, we see composites being used more and more everywhere within the civil, commercial, and military applications in aerospace. Reason is, is because composites, again, are incredibly strong and very lightweight. So for the sake of aerospace, lightweight is critical. Of course, so is strength, so composites get used. Next we see consumer products really beginning to take off with our composite products. Think of graphite golf clubs and so on. And the reason behind this is because you can, again, tailor-make the composite to whatever product it is you…
