- [Instructor] Next up we look at imported meshes and how to work with them. Many people are surprised that there is no quick or simple way to convert from a mesh to a nurbs surface, but it is very easy to go from a nurbs to a mesh which is what we typically do for prototyping. But now we're going to focus on how to simplify imported meshes so we can just use them for reference only. A big heads up right now before you try any of these steps be sure to ask whoever you're getting the files from for a nurbs-friendly format first. So if they have a file that's directly from Rhino or even a step format what's what you're going to want to work with. In that case you can skip this whole video and just work directly with the imported geometry. So let's talk about what is a mesh.
