The adoption of a new production theory

- I say all the time that we don't change easily in construction, and I really believe this is true. I also believe that we can make it a little easier to facilitate change if we have an overall goal or a plan. And this is why I think we need to use the concept of a new production theory to facilitate and actually drive change in our industry. I believe we're making changes. There's no question there. We are adopting new processes like alternative project delivery methods. And we are starting to go digital, and change our ways of sharing information, and making it available in the field. But I think even though we're making changes, we have a problem or two. One problem is that the data shows us that none of these changes seems to be having a real impact on construction productivity. So we might be doing all this cool stuff, but in the end we don't know if it's making any difference, and that's a problem.
