- [Instructor] In Revit roofs can be tough, especially roofs with weird dormers that you want a hole in the roof that follows the path of the dormer. What I'd like to do in this video is create a hip roof, put a curved dormer in it, draw some walls up, and create an opening in that roof. Under Models I'm going to go New. For my Template file I'll go with Architectural Template. I'll click OK. On the Architecture tab I'm going to click Roof. You have created a roof on the lowest level, would you like to move it to level two? Let's move it to Level one, I don't care, it's fine, click Yes. Let's click on the Rectangle button. I'm going to draw a rectangle just like this. Pretty big roof, it's sitting on the ground, that's OK. Click Finish. Let's change our View Range. So I'm going to scroll down in my Properties. Under View Range I'm going to click Edit. For the Top let's go Unlimited. For the Cut plane let me go 200 feet. I'm just kind of pulling that out of the air. I just know that's…
