The five-minute guide to printing with resin

- [Instructor] If you're used to printing with film and are thinking about trying out a resin 3D printer, you might think the differences would be pretty minor. However, surprisingly little crosses over. In this video, we'll introduce resin 3D printing and talk about how it is and is not like printing with filament. The obvious difference is that you're working with a liquid, usually in a shallow tank and not solid filament. The second one is that for most machines, you'll be printing upside down, with the platform on top. The print is created by illuminating the resin at the bottom of the tank, either a full layer at once, or by moving around a laser beam. The resin that's been exposed to the appropriate wavelength of light hardens and has to be peeled off the bottom. - [Instructor] Supports need to resist gravity and the forces encountered when this peeling takes place.
