A look at multiaxis CNC milling machines
(upbeat rock music) - Today we're here at SureFire and we're taking a look at a vertical machining center. Now this machine is used for all types of different tasks for manufacturing flashlights for the SureFire Brand. Over here you can see a few different things. Over here we got a basic vise here. We've got a fixture plate, as well as a fourth axis here. So you have a whole have a whole bunch of different options how you might machine a part. Over here we're looking at the control. You can see where we can type in the program, make any modifications we want to the program. We can adjust the speeds, the feeds, and all the other controls. And if something goes wrong, we can hit the red emergency stop button. It's a pretty basic machine and pretty standard you might see in the industry. And it's programmed mostly with G-code.
