The sticky note format

- The pull planning process starts by defining project phasing or project milestones and then assigning completion dates to those milestones. The trades involved and the work required to achieve the milestone meet, and they use a team approach to develop the network of activities required to complete that milestone, and they work backward from the completion date. Durations are applied to each activity with no contingencies applied, no padding added in. Logic can be reexamined to attempt to shorten duration, and then earliest practical start dates are determined for each activity based on the commitment to the finish date of its preceding activity. Reliability is really the key here, and it takes some time and effort for many of the front line managers to understand a couple of the concepts that are really critical to the success of this process.
