Trims and splits
- [Narrator] There are several methods in which you can break, split or trim elements in Catia. First, in generative shape design, we have split. With split, you have the ability to pick the element or elements you want to cut and the elements that are going to do the cutting. I'll pick the surface, you'll notice that it splits that surface, it removes this portion. I can pick a curve, I can also pick plane. So the split is allowing you to pick any element, so long as it splits the element to cut. If I want to keep the other side, I can specify the other side, just make sure I have the element specified correctly here, in the menu. so if I go up to curve one and say other side, you'll see it switches it over to the other side of curve one. So if you have a very long list of things in here, it may be a little tricky, so just go careful and the system is really good about indicating what it is you're highlighting, so…
