Build complex shapes with spline masks

- [Instructor] Up until now, we've used the spline tools to draw and manipulate splines, and we've also used the primitive spline objects. And now, let's look at how we'd make complex splines using the 2D boolean spline operations, and we'll also look at the spline mask. Okay, so we'll begin with some primitive objects, and so what we can do is maybe, let's just see, we'll take a circle. We could also take a rectangle, and maybe change the height to something like 20, and let's increase the width. And we'll make a few copies of this, so just command, click, and drag. And what we can do is just hold down R, rotate, and what are we going to do with this? It's looking a bit odd, but what we can do is then select the three rectangles, which we have already, and now, select the spline that we want to effect, and so what we can do is then say spline, subtract, okay? What this is going to do is perform a 2D boolean operation. And as a consequence, it's going to take those parametric splines…
