Bumpy materials

- [Voiceover] When you look at objects and surfaces in the real world, they're rarely perfectly smooth. They have irregularities, and these catch the light and give the surfaces character. The bump channel allows us to add the appearance of surface imperfection, without having to model all those details. So, let's create an object. I'm going to use a sphere, and we'll create a new material. Just come up to here. And let's open up that material, double click on it, and we'll turn on the bump channel. When you enable the bump channel, you'll see that everything here is grayed out, and it needs a shader. It's generally a black and white or grayscale image. We will come here and we will add a noise. Now, we'll just click into here. You can see everything's activated now, and we get this preview as well, but let's just click into here and we can see the attributes and properties of this noise shader.
