Compositing multipass renders

- [Instructor] Compositing is about looking at a shot and asking questions. How can you improve on the beauty pass? It will be difficult to make significant changes to the RGB output because it's a flattened image, but multipass compositing allows you to explore options for achieving different looks because the beauty pass has been separated into its component elements. The process of compositing multipass renders is to take the frames and then layer them using blending modes to rebuild the beauty pass. So from there you can make your choices as to how the shot will be improved. This is the RGB pass that we're looking at, and if we look at the diffuse pass, you can see this is very different, and so this will be our base color and we need to then layer up these other passes that we have to create the beauty. A very important step before we begin is to set up our project settings correctly. So I'm going to click onto where it says 8 Bit here, and in the Depth, I'm going to choose 16…
