Create and apply materials
- [Instructor] When you create materials you're going to do so in the Material Manager. Now typically it's found in the bottom of the standard layout, and so we can explore the Material Manager here. We can choose to create materials by coming to the Create menu and clicking on New Material, or using the shortcut Command + N when we're focused in the Material Manager, and we're not going to look at the New PPR Materials at the moment. We're just going to focus on these standard materials for now. Another method is to just double click in the Material Manager and that's my preferred method. Double clicking again will open up the Material Editor and we can just edit this material, giving it a bit of color. And what I'm going to do is just create some other materials quickly, so I'll just click and drag to create a duplicate and just change this to a lighter more lilac color, and I'll create one more and it will be a light gray color.
