Create organic growth patterns
- [Narrator] In this movie, we're going to explore how we use Fields to create organically growing vertex maps. And these can be used to drive deformers and materials. So we got this scene partially set up and we're going to work with this cube. So I'm going to turn off the subdivision surface and let's just make some vertex maps. Now, I've an edge selection already prepared, but how I got to that. If I just deselected, I went to Select and used the Phong Break Selection and just choose Select All. And now, what I want to do is, if I stop flicking through this camera, I'm just going to zoom in a bit more, and I'm going to convert that to a point selection, so I'm going to Hold + Command. And click on points, and then press U + Y to grow the selection. Now, a quick way to make a vertex map is just coming to the Paint Tool in the Character menu. And holding down Shift and just clicking. Now, what I want to do is transfer this point selection to the white map. So I'm going to apply…
