Create a subsurface scattering material

- [Instructor] Subsurface scattering is a way of describing how light enters a surface of a translucent object. And the light is then scattered by the material so it bounces around and exits at a different point to where it entered. So if you look around the real world, you can see the effects of subsurface scattering in candle wax, for example, or skin. Or take a look at fruits or other organic objects. Be learning this effect, you can add realism to your materials. Now I've gone ahead and set up this project here for these gummy worms. And we're using mixed materials to mix in a bit more reflection on top of the SSS material. So as this set-up is a bit more involved and takes us away from the focus of creating subsurface scattering materials, I wanted to make sure you still had this file so you could come back to it once you've learned the key components and then, yeah, you can revisit it if you wish.
