- [EJ] Hello, and welcome to another Cinema 4D Weekly. Now you may have heard of the term clay rendering before, but you may not have ever realized what it's good for aside from just adding more content to your Instagram posts. Clay rendering's actually when you render a scene where all the geometry has a default gray material applied to it in order to test lighting and camera views. Now lack of materials allows you to focus on the affects of lighting and camera view without being distracted by all the effects that are coming from the materials and the textures, so now that you clay rendering is, let's go ahead and learn how to employ it in Cinema 4D using native renderers and in a redshift.
