I'm in a good mood today, so I'll treat you to something. I'll teach you how to make a broken glass. Yes, a broken piece of glass. So, I'll start with a plane. Raise it on the plus z axis, and make the width and height segments one. So, that's one square polygon. Make it editable. Now, let's move it so that we can see it head on. Change my display settings. Select the polygon selection and press K for knife. With a knife in the Line mode, press Cmd+A or Ctrl+A on your PC and select this polygon. Now, you may see it as blue and that means that the normal is reversed. If you right-click and reverse normals then it would be orange, as it should be. Anyway, let's start, click, and drag, and cutting up this polygon. You don't have to be very precise, just cut it up to as many pieces as you want. You can cut smaller pieces if you like.
