- [Instructor] So what is the work flow for rendering a scene with global illumination? We already know it's an effect in the render settings. So the first thing to do is to activate the effect. So we'll come over to our render settings and don't worry about these render set ups that I've already got here. We're just going to focus on the task at hand which is coming over to affect it and then choosing global illumination. So let's look at the interface here. Well you can choose one of the presets and I suggest you test a few of these out in your own time and see what they do. Now the GI calculation in Cinema 4D works in two parts. We have the primary method and the secondary method. The primary method is the most important and that's why the higher quality algorithms are available here. So we have the irradiance cache and QMC, and I just don't worry about the legacy. It's much slower than the new irradiance cache and it's simply here for compatibility with older scenes. The primary…
