How do lights work?

- [Instructor] Let's turn our attention to lights now. And lights in Cinema 4D and, in fact, any 3D application are quite unlike lights in the real world. They do not bounce, they don't lose intensity, they don't cast shadows, unless you tell them to have those attributes. So let's look at how we can teach these lights to be a bit smarter. First, we'll look at the scene, as you start at them. Every scene has a default light. So if you want to have a play around with the default lighting, 'cause it's a bit flat at the moment, you can come over and choose Options, Default Light, and here a little sphere appears in this panel. And you can then resize it and then click and drag on the sphere to change the lighting. And this will change that default lighting. So you can sort of see what moods you can create. Right-click on the sphere to reset the lighting. And without the default lights, when you render the scene, there'd be nothing here. So you can come over to the Options to prove this…
