Import a model
- [Man] Let's look at importing models now. And in most cases you'll be provided with something that is not in Cinema 4D's, dot C4D format. So having the ability to work with other 3D formats in C4D is important. We're going to import a common 3D format called OBJ. And so we can do this in a number of ways. We can merge it into the scene. And we can also choose to open the file directly. Now there's some differences with opening and merging. If you open the file, and you have a dot mtl material file associated, then the object will come in with textures generally speaking, so if we just choose to open this the OBJ import dialogue opens up. We can choose to split the objects up based on materials which can be very useful in other things. We'll try materials. If there is a dot mtl file, import that file. If you couldn't find one then it would just give everything a default white or random colors. There's some other options for flipping various axes in case the object comes in upside…
