Introduction to materials

- [Instructor] Materials define the surface properties of an object so we can choose their color, the reflectivity, the roughness, things like that. Materials are stored in the Material Manger, which you'll find in the lower left third of the standard layout, however, if you're using the Motion Tracker layout, and we switch over to that now, materials are found here behind the tab. So let's just come back to the standard layout. Materials can be created either by choosing create new material, using the keyboard shortcut, control or command+N, or just double-clicking in the Material Manager, and that creates a new material here. In release 20, node-based materials were introduced, and you can explore those here, however, our focus remains on the standard material. So if we click onto this, the properties open up in the Attributes Manager, and this can be a little bit hard to work in, especially with the layout that we have at the moment, so I'm going to double-click this and open up…
