- One of the wonderful things about lighting in a 3D application is that you don't always have to follow the rules of the real world. We can put lights anywhere in a scene in 3D, and you don't have to rely on the C4D light objects alone. You can use other objects and even materials to light a scene. Let's take a look at some examples. So in this scene we have some objects being cloned. And if we look at the hierarchy, there is a cylinder here called Light. So turning off the cloner, you can see that just this object, the top is providing a light source, and it's doing that through an emissive material.
