Linear and angular damping

Let's talk about linear and angular damping. I'll create a floor, a small cube. I'll create a MoGraph cloner, drop the cube in the cloner. Let's make this into a grid, add ten on each axis, and make them render instances so that they're a bit faster in the viewport. Change my display settings, adjust my camera. Let's lift this slightly higher. Isolate both the cloner and the floor. Right click Simulation Tags and tell the cloner to allow the children to be independent. Because children need to be independent after a certain age. Rewind, press Play and we will see the system breaking up, excellent. I'll add more frames to my frame range. Now, watch this. Because this is quite a massive object. When it starts falling, it has a lot of kinetic energy. And you can see all the pieces flying around everywhere. Now, of course, what we could do is select the rigid body tags. Minimize the bounce. maximize the friction. Rewind and Play. This will make our simulation a bit more controlled, but…
