- Hello, and welcome to another Cinema 4D Weekly. This week I'm going to show you how you can use Vertex maps to literally paint worn edges onto your objects. So here I have a scene and I'm going to paint some worn edges to reveal the underlying material which will be metal. So think of this as like a plastic painted item and we'll reveal some metal underneath. So what we need to do is paint the worn edges and how we'll do that is I'll first select an object here, and with that object selected and with it made editable I'm going to go to my tools and go to paint tool. And here I can literally paint on this object and I am painting on a Vertex map. And a Vertex map is basically giving an assigning a weight to each vertices and you can see that whatever Vertex is yellow gets a hundred percent strength and whatever is red get 0% Vertex map strength and you get all the orange gradient values in between now this is…
