I've been sculpting since as long as I can remember. If I'm just exploring ideas or playing with forms or just trying to come up with some cool concept or design, I'll go to digital because I'm able to do a bunch of that in a short amount of time and make iterations. I'd taken pictures of a cicada like in 2006. I looked at it and you know, thought to myself that'd be really cool creature or alien some day. When I start blocking stuff out, it's broad strokes. Forms are way more important than the wrinkles and all the fine detail stuff. I wanted to give him some kind of space suit. I got to try different ideas, some that worked, some that didn't. I think it's important to push yourself. Yeah, you, you're not comfortable, but do it anyway because you're going to learn something.
