What is the Timeline?

- [Instructor] The most common way of creating animation in Cinema 4D is by setting key frames and it is possibly to create animation without setting any key frames at all, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. Let's create an object, we'll use a sphere and we'll just make the radius a bit smaller and we're just going to move it up on the Y axis. So a key frame is essentially a piece of data stored at a specific point in time. In C4D we'll look at all the key frames in the timeline and then we'll create the animation between them using interpolation. So there's a few technical terms there and for those unfamiliar let's just get an example going so we can clarify these terms. Now we have our sphere in the scene and it's just up here in the Y axis. We can come over to the coordinates and you can see these dots here. Now if we hover over one you can see the outer ring change color, but if we click on to it it will become red and where our timeline marker is a key frame is created, you…
