- [Instructor] Delay and decay are two modify layers, which can produce some really interesting effects. If you're familiar with MoGraph you may have used the delay effector to add easing or springiness to your animations. The delay modifier works in a similar way. Let's just press play and see what we've got. We have the shark fin swimming around and what we'd like to do is kind of create a trail. We'll come into our plane effector and we'll add a delay modifier layer. Let's just press play and we'll see what happens with the smooth mode. So this is going to ease the motion over time based on the parameters that we have here, and if we increase the strength it will be more pronounced. We can change this to spring, to get a springy motion and if we unclamp the field list we'll get positive and negative values which kind of looks like waves or ripples.
