The importance of shot analysis

- [Instructor] The task of match moving can be far from simple. So it is important to analyze the shot prior to tracking. Taking a look at this shot, we can see there are some potential areas that could cause some issues. We definitely wouldn't want to track the bird that is flying in the sky at the top of the frame. And there are reflections on the windows to the right. There appears to be some decent areas of contrast in the foreground. And I feel confident that we can get a decent solve if we remember to discount any unwanted things prior to solving. Just knowing a bit more context allows us to better prepare how we will approach the way we track the shot. Let's discuss some potential problems you could encounter when analyzing shots and some possible solutions to those problems. You could have objects that are in motion, and they're moving in a different motion to the camera. So they would throw off the solve.…
