- [Narrator] I think it's important to understand how resilience differs from robustness. When we talk about resilience on the web, it's easy to confuse it with robustness and this distinction is non-trivial, so let's define these terms. In our context, robust means built to withstand all challenges and perform consistently at all times. Robust websites aim to deliver the same experience to everyone all the time no matter what. That stands in contrast to resilient. A resilient website is built to be flexible and malleable enough to meet a defined goal under all circumstances. And it aims to deliver the same goal at all times even if that means providing different experiences for different users. You'll likely come across this distinction when addressing issues around accessibility or backwards compatibility to older browsers.
