- Now some of you watching might think that money was no option. That we have tons of money to spend on all these lenses. Well, today a lot of these lenses have been borrowed from friends, colleagues, or drawn upon kits. We both work in the world of video production where there's multiple cameras in use, but we rented some of these lenses. It's never the option to buy everything you want. So, it's really important to give some thought to choosing your coverage range. Jim, you frequently have to rent lenses for different jobs. What's the thought process of how you decide which lenses to rent and which lenses to purchase? - Well, let's see. I'll categorize it in terms of the focal length range that I want, because if you're using primes, you don't have an infinite range from one end to another with all the spaces in between.
