- We started earlier in this class talking about identifying your cost but now we're at that point where your business is up and running, you've got some promotional offers out there, now it's important to manage those costs. And there's some very specific things you want to pay attention to so that your costs aren't running amok when you're trying to make a living and you're trying to build profitability, you're not running into surprises at year end when it's time to start thinking about talking to your accountant. Here are five easy to remember tips when it comes to looking at managing your cost. First of all, I mentioned this earlier today, rent high-end gear before you buy it. There's no reason to buy it until you're really sure that you need it and it's going to change the way your photography looks.
