Different demographics require different methods of reach

- As you start to identify the demographics remember that different demographics have different reach. For example, in the Portrait/Social category, women make 98% of the purchase decisions to hire a professional photographer. That hasn't changed in years, so your target audience for the Portrait/Social category is typically brides or it's mom. Because those are the two people that are making the decisions most often to hire you. Now on the commercial side, that changes again. Your target audience isn't mom or brides anymore, but corporate managers, ad agencies, national listings. A lot of photographers, as they start to build their business in professional photography on the commercial side, will hire an agent to represent them and have a rep that's out there being able to generate business and create more awareness for their presence as a commercial photographer.
