- The last major mode on the camera to discuss is full manual. Full manual means that you are setting both the aperture and the shutter speed yourself. The camera's doing neither automatically. So, why would you want to do that? Well, this gives you complete and total control over the exposure. You can control the depth of field. You can control the shutter speeds, whether you're freezing action or blurring action completely. Now, this doesn't mean that you don't have to still strike the balance to get a good exposure. Of course, you do. But, you have complete control over that. So, this is up to you if you want to go into this mode. So, let's take a look at how to get into that mode on a variety of cameras. On the Lumix it is simply the M position on the dial out of the PASM. That's again Program, Aperture priority, Shutter priority and Manual. On the Sony, it's the same thing. PASM, just switch that over to M for manual. On a Canon, we simply switch the dial into M for manual and on…
