Printing your own work

- A lot of you are going to give some serious thought to printing your own work. Now, from my perspective, sometimes it's a great idea, sometimes it's a horrible idea. The first thing that happens is you've got to be able to offer a fast turnaround. Now, personally, I love it when I hear that a photographer has a printer in their studio. And especially, when you've got a headshot, for example, that you need, you've got somebody from the community that's doing a press release, or they're doing a campaign, and they need a quick turnaround on a headshot. Well, being able to produce that image, or better yet, you photograph an event over the weekend, and that particular association, let's assume it was the Alzheimer's walk, and you got a picture that was great for them to use for publicity release. You want to be able to print that up fast, you're not going to send it to the lab. That's a great application when it comes to offering your client almost instant fulfillment. But on the other…
