Shooting with a wide-angle lens

- I think it's pretty common as people start to work with prime lenses that they're naturally attracted to a couple of lenses first. The 50 millimeter, which is a real natural field of view and people pick up the 85 because it's a great portrait lens, but sometimes going the other direction with a wide angle or an ultra wide angle could be pretty popular. What are we looking at here as we move into wide and ultra wide? - As the focal length gets shorter and it gets wider, you're going to start to see some barrel distortion, maybe if it's a cheaper lens, and that distortion will sort of take you out of... Well, it won't be a normal field of view to your eye, but it'll feel normal. Lines, perspective lines will make sense. Everything will seem like the natural world. Whereas ultra wide, depending on the quality, will start to look a little funky. - Yeah, we're looking at things like 14 to 21 millimeters being the ultra wide lenses, and somewhere in the 21, 24s, the 35s, those ranges are…
