Shutter priority

- Shutter priority mode is the mode on your camera where you, as the photographer, choose the shutter speed and the camera chooses the aperture for you. So before we get into what it is and how to use it, let's take a look at how to get our cameras into that mode. On the Lumix camera, as part of the P-A-S-M, you'll see for program, aperture, shutter, and manual, you simply put it to the S for shutter speed. On the Sony it's the same thing, P-A-S-M, so there's S for shutter priority. On the Canon, it's a little bit different in that it doesn't say shutter, it says time. TV for time valuation is the shutter priority mode on the Canon. And finally on the Fuji camera, which doesn't have the P-A-S-M dial, you put the aperture into A for automatic and then put your shutter speed into a manual mode and now you have manual shutter and automatic aperture, and that's shutter priority.
