Stabilizing prime lenses
- So whether you're shooting stills or video, a stabilization of your camera is very important for sharp images, or in the case of video, for nice, stable floating images, or locked off images. And there's basically three ways to do it. You can do it in the camera. You can do it at the lens, Or you can carry the whole thing on a stabilization rig of its own. - Yeah, and the lens stabilization has been very common in the world of zoom lenses. It goes by different names, things like IS for image stabilization, VR in the Nikon world for vibration reduction. Here though, I'm starting to see it actually come into the world of prime lenses. For example, this one here from Tamron is part of their new series of primes, and they just call it VC for vibration control. And it's a simple on and off switch.
