Working with a telephoto lens

- All right, well here we're going to continue to capture some portraits. And now we're moving to a telephoto lens. You know, when I first got this lens one of my friends said, "You can't take a bad picture with it." Now I proved him wrong really quickly, of course you can, with composition and what not. But, I think what he was saying is that when you're working with a lens like this, this particular focal length works out really well with people. It allows us to compress the scene so the background seems closer. It also creates a really nice and flattering look on the face and the body. So, this is one of those lenses, or this focal length, I should say, which has some magic to it. Now there is of course a trick to it, so let's begin to capture some photographs. Here what I'm going to do is I'm going to move right around here in order to create a head shot.
