- [Instructor] There are times when I don't need my audience to view an entire video. There might be a specific step within the video that I want to direct my viewers to, or maybe I have a 52 minute podcast video that I want my audience to start watching at 30 minutes in. Let's take a look at the process for linking to a specific spot within a video in YouTube. I have a video open that I've uploaded to YouTube. I'm going to click Share under the video. Under my link, I'm going to check the box that says Start at. If I leave that box unchecked, my video link will just direct viewers to the start of the video. But by checking that box, I take them to a specific section of the video. I can then use the timeline to navigate to the exact place that I want the video to begin. YouTube automatically adds that start time in the field. Check out the URL address in the sharing field as I check and uncheck this box.
