- [Instructor] When you create screencasts, you are the director of your movie and you are in full control over it. You get to choose where to draw your viewers' attention, what they see, hear, the timing for how your story unfolds, and thus far we've talked a lot about the content that you're creating, delivering, and editing. Now, let's take a brief moment and talk about what not to show, and that can be summed up in one word, distractions. Now as the director, one of your biggest jobs is to look, listen, and think, "Is this adding to my story or detracting from it?" And if it detracts, even a little bit, get rid of it. When creating screencast content, perhaps the biggest distraction most of us miss is our virtual set.
