Creating a custom recording region

- [Instructor] For the most common type of recording that you'll likely make will be to capture the full screen of your PC, and that's what this default button here in the Camtasia recorder does. But if you click the little drop-down here next to Custom area you can see that you have a lot of other options. Now these top two sections have the most common screen aspect ratios that you may need. The wide screen formats all match the common 16 by nine movie screen formats that we've all become accustomed to. Now these can be really helpful if you're recording on a PC that has a native screen size that is outside of this ratio. Now, I'll select a smaller 480p size since I'm recording this movie for you at 720p. Now you get a Custom record region designated by the green dashed line that is already set in the correct aspect ratio. You can reposition this record region by dragging the control point here in the center to another area of the screen. If you click on the small lock icon then the…
