- [Instructor] A vlog or a video podcast is a great format for creating MicroLearning. Okay, let's break this down a bit, because that sounds like some serious jargon. We already talked about what a podcast is, so a video podcast is simply a podcast that contains videos instead of audio inside of the RSS feed. Now the term vlog comes out of a mashup of video and blogs, where the vlogger is generally talking directly into the camera and documenting their daily lives in an episodic video posted online. These are usually posted up to YouTube. Okay, the good news is creating a MicroLearning vlog is really straightforward and a great tool for the job is in your pocket, your smartphone. You can either handhold your phone or get a cheap tripod mount and a tripod to steady your camera with. Just be sure to stay close to your phone, so your face is clearly visible in the frame and your microphone will also pick up your voice better.
