- [Instructor] Screencasts are generally the first thing that most people think of when they hear the term microlearning and that's because screencasts are simply short movies of a computer screen with a voiceover recording guiding you through a short focused lesson. In fact, nearly every single movie that you find here on LinkedIn Learning is a microlearning screencast. Creating your own microlearning screencast is really straightforward. You need a screen recording app, a microphone, a set of headphones, a video editor and a place to host your video. Now, for your screen recorder, you'll want a copy of either Camtasia for Windows or Mac or a copy of ScreenFlow on the Mac and there are also a few other options including a web-based tool called Screencast-O-Matic. Next, use the same USB microphone headset that we talked about for doing audio recording with.
